Welcome to the Advanced Guide to Runescape. To use this, either scroll down to find the entry you are looking for,
or hit Ctrl+F to open the Find window, and type in what you are looking for.

Adamantite - one of the types of Metals. It is the second strongest free metal available. It is stronger than Mithril but weaker than Rune. To make an adamantite bar, you need one adamantite ore and six coal. You need a defense level of 30 to wear or an attack level of 30 to wield.

Attack - one of the Skills. Can be used in calculating combat level. Determines how accurately you hit. Also used to determine what weapons you can wield.

Black - one of the types of Metals. It is the fourth weakest metal. It is stringer than Steel but weaker than Mithril. You can't make a black bar for some odd reason... You need a defense level of 10 to wear or an attack level of 10 to wield.

Bronze - one of the types of Metals. It is the weakest metal available. It is weaker than Iron. to make a bronze bar, you need one tin ore and one copper ore.

Defense - my favorite of the Skills. It can be used in calculating your combat level. Determines how much damage you receive from enemies. Also used to determine what kinds of armor you can wear.

Dragon (Type of metal) - one of the types of Metals. It is the strongest member's metal available. It is stronger than Rune. It is extremely rare and you need a defense level of 60 to wear or an attack level of 60 to wield.

Dragon Slayer (Quest) - The hardest free Quest. It involves killing Elvarg, the green dragon. If you are going to attempt this quest, wear three Rune items, preferably chain, legs/skirt, and a weapon. Also equip the DragonFire Shield, or else you will be toasted. As a reward for this quest, you gain the ability to wear Rune Plate armor.

Free (players) - players who do not pay $5.00 a month to become members. Free players can not do as many quests, use some items, use Dragon armor, or go to a large section of the map.

Hitpoints - one of the skills, this is your health. It starts at 10, and helps determine your combat level.

Iron - one of the types of Metals. It is the second weakest metal available. It is stronger than Bronze but weaker than Steel. To make a iron bar, you need one iron ore. However, iron ore has a 50% chance of being impure, and impure ore won't make bars.

Jagex - the almighty company that runs RuneScape. Their main website is Here.

Members (Players) - players who pay $5.00 a month. They have access to many more things than Free players. I used to be one.

Metals - the Metals are bronze, iron, steel, black, mithril , adamantite, rune, and dragon. All metals, except dragon, can be mined and smithed.

Mining - one of the skills. You use a pickaxe to mine a rock, and you receive ore. Then, you can smith it

Mithril - one of the types of Metals. It is the third strongest free metal available. It is stronger than Steel but weaker than Adamantite. To make a mithril bar, you need one mithril ore and four coal. You need a defense level of 20 to wear or an attack level of 20 to wield.

NPC - (Non Player Character). Not a real live person. Either a monster, shop keeper, etc. You can fight some, others give you quests.

Quests - different tasks that you accomplish for certain NPC's. Quests sometimes give you different rewards like money, items, experience, and Quest Points. Members can do many more quests than Free Players. The hardest free quest is the Dragon Slayer quest. I can't really tell you the hardest member's quest since they keep adding new ones.

Skills - the different things you level up in runescape. Some of these determine your combat level, but all of them are added together to create your total level. By default, all of them start at 1, except for hitpoints, which starts at 10. Some skills are: attack, defense, and hitpoints.

Steel - one of the types of Metals. It is the third weakest metal. It is stronger than iron but weaker than black. To make a steel bar, you need one iron ore and two coal. You need a defense level of 5 to wear it or an attack level of 5 to wield.
