***NeoPets Guide***
By RabidCentipede

I am making this guide to help other people do well on NeoPets. (http://www.neopets.com)
Each section discusses something useful to do.
****************************************************
----------------------------------------------------

1. Daily routine:

It is a good habit to have a daily routine of places/games you go to/play.
Some things I would recommend including are:

*collecting your interest from the bank
*checking your shop till
*checking on your pet's hunger level/feeding them
*going places
*playing games
*restocking your shop

--------------------------

2. Playing Games

Games are a wonderful way to earn NPs. There are no certain games that I would recommend, just do whichever ones you are good at.
Some ones I have luck with are:

*Meerca Chase 2 (I avg. 150 nps per play)
*Bumper cars (I avg. 375 per play)
*Hannah and the Pirate Caves (I avg. 1000 nps per play)

A good rule of thumb is to not send your score until you have collected what is worth 100 nps on the game.

I play Hannah and the Pirate Caves because when you play through all of the tutorial levels, you can collect a lot of points.

Remember, you can play each game 3 times per day. (If you add up my scores above, that is about 4.5k for just 3 games!)

I would advise you NOT to play luck/chance games where you have to pay to play.

--------------------------

3. Free Places

I would recommend adding places like the Tombola game, the Healing springs, Fruit Machine, etc. to your daily routine.
Basically, anything that you don't have to pay for and that might get you free stuff.
Some of these places are:

*Snowager
*Giant Omelet
*Coltzan's Shrine
*Fruit Machine
*Healing Springs
*Tombola
*Money Tree
*Rubbish Dump
*Giant Jelly
*Advent Calendar (If it is December)

Some hints I have:

*From my experience, the Snowager is usually awake around 4:45 to 5:45 EST.
*Visit all of these places daily!
*Even though these places rarely give out anything worth more than 10 NP, I have gotten a paintbrush, two faeries, a bunch of codestones, and a lot of
money from these places.

---------------------------

4. Neolodge

Instead of feeding your pets, I recommend booking them into the NeoLodge. There they will be fed and taken care of.
Don't select any of the extra things, and it should be 5np per night per pet to keep them full and happy!!
What a great deal!!!

---------------------------

5. Your Shop

Your shop is probably how you will make most of your money.
My tips for running a good shop are:

*Use the Shop Wizard for EVERY ITEM!
*Price all of your items 5-10 NP below the lowest price on the wizard.
*Sell ALL unused items. Even if it is only worth 5-10 NP, every bit helps. (You'd be surprised what some people buy!)
*ADVERTISE your shop on the boards.
*Have sales every now and then.
*DON'T FORGET: Check your Shop Till!!

----------------------------

6. Buying things

Do this very rarely. Do not just buy items because they look neat.

Use the shop wizard whenever you buy something.

If something is drastically under priced on the shop wizard, buy it and resell it.

Don't waste money on unnecessary things.

----------------------------

7. Use guides/websites, and ask for help!

Some very helpful neopets-related websites are:

www.soup-faerie.com

www.neopianeducator.com

Since you can find answers to the Faerie crossword online, that is an easy 600NP to get! (Plus an avatar!)

Remember, you can also always ask anyone on the boards if you aren’t sure about something.

----------------------------

8. Avatars

There are many secret avatars hidden across the site.
Some are easy to get, while others require rare items or
rare random events.

Both of the websites listed above have lists of how to get secret avatars.

I wouldn't spend money on trying to get them, as they are not of
any practical use.

----------------------------

9. Hobbies

Many people on Neopets have "hobbies". Some of the more common ones are:

*Buying/decorating a large Neohome
*Collecting Avatars
*Maintaining a fancy shop/gallery
*Fighting in the Battledome
*Collecting coins/stamps
*Raising pet's levels
*Getting on high score tables for many games
*Having a nice site/pet page

These usually don't directly affect your neopets, but usually cost money.

Until you have enough money to afford some of the more expensive things,
I would recommend not doing to many of these.

-----------------------------

10. Galleries

Galleries are a very common hobby. My own shop is a gallery-in-progress!

Having a gallery is simple. You simply pick a theme, and collect items relating to that theme.
You then put them all in your shop at non-selling prices like 250k.

The only downside to this is you can't use your shop to sell things, if you want your gallery to look professional.
Because of this, I recommend giving the items you want to sell to a neofriend (a trustworthy one), and then them giving you their profits from those items!
